My name is Axel Mierke. I have more than 15 years of experience in the field of private sector development. Since 1999, I have been working as a manager, management consultant and policy advisor enhancing the investment climate in South East Asia, especially Vietnam, where I used to live for several years (e.g. as a consultant at the Ministry for Planning and Investment). This enabled me to build up a valuable network in different provinces and the two major cities Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. I also have access to high-level decision makers.
Vietnam is developing rapidly. This is why I spend large parts of the year in Asia expanding my contacts and activities. As a consultant I support international companies in their projects, e.g. internationalisation strategy, market entry, location analysis and intercultural management. With our partner offices and extensive networks in Hanoi and Saigon we have the best conditions to support our clients locally.
You can see that intercultural cooperation has been my daily business for many years and in a wide variety of occupations.
In trainings and coaching I pass this experience and knowledge on to single persons or companies. In order to consolidate the international cooperation I have been involved in building up an internationally accredited MBA study course specialising in management consulting. I also teach economic topics at universities in Europe and Asia and have published several articles on Vietnam as a business environment.
